The Powell Police Department would like to recognize Officer Isaac Gutierrez for recently earning his certification as a Drug Recognition Expert (DRE).

To achieve this certification, Officer Gutierrez completed ten days of intensive classroom training, followed by four days of field certification in Kingman, Arizona, where he conducted supervised drug influence evaluations and passed the final certification knowledge exam.

The DRE program is one of the most demanding law enforcement training programs focused on impaired driving. Officers are trained to identify impairment caused by drugs other than alcohol through a detailed and standardized evaluation process. The certification requires significant study, discipline, and a strong commitment to professional development.

We are proud of the dedication Officer Gutierrez showed in completing this training and representing the Powell Police Department in the Wyoming DRE program.
